”It was this really weird situation in Vampire Weekend’s hotel room,” Azon says, giggling throughout his recollection of the New Yorkers’ after-show party. ”Ezra [Koenig, VW frontman] was shaking everyone’s hand at the end of the night and as we walked out we realised that we all had blood on us … We turned around and said, ‘Man, someone’s bleeding in there.’ He [Koenig] traced it back - the blood was on his hands but he’d picked it up from someone else. Either way, it seemed like they were trying to infect us … and perhaps that’s exactly what happened with our music!”
